IFL: El Paso Generals Won’t Play This Year

El Paso, Texas -The El Paso Generals, who won the Lone Star Division in the Indoor Football League last season, will not play this year.

The Indoor Football League made the announcement when releasing the league schedule recently.

“Unfortunately, the El Paso Generals have made a decision to not play in 2010,” the news release stated. “It is hoped that the league will be able to place a team in El Paso for the 2011 season.”

The El Paso Generals, inits first season in the league, made it to the league’s semi-final playoff game, losing 66-35 to Billings on Aug. 1. The Generals finished the season with a 13-3 record.

The team’s head coach, Brian Brents, was named IFL Coach of the Year and the Generals were named Best New Franchise by the IFL.
