Ex-Santa Teresa Teacher Arrested On Sex Charges

El Paso, Texas – Three law enforcement agencies teamed up today to arrest a former teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

David M. Arrey, 42, of the 5700 block of Butte Dr. in Santa Teresa, N.M.was arrested on a warrant for five counts of criminal sexual penetration in the fourth degree. He previously coached at Santa Teresa High school and was a physical education teacher from October 2008 through May 2009. During this time, he allegedly developed a sexual relationship with a student at the school, according to Dona Ana Sheriff’s officials.

Arrey was actually arrested at his mother’s home in Los Lunas, N.M. after a week-long search. He will be transported back to Las Cruces later this week where he will be held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
