Citizens Detain Man

A man who crashed into a fire hydrant got himself into a lot more trouble after the crash.

Police say 22 year old Schyler King hit a fire hydrant on the east side. When a man stopped to help him, King allegedly tried to steal the man’s truck. Some other people who also stopped, were able to pull him away.

A few moments later, witnesses say he got into a Ford Explorer, started rummaging around and then tried to leave – but he had two flats.

The group was able to run King down, where they held him until police arrived.

King is now charged with burglary and attempted theft. His bond is set at $17,000.
