U.S. 70 Open Again Following Deadly Wreck In New Mexico
The eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 70 in New Mexico are now open after being closed Saturday morning due to a wreck, according to New Mexico State Police.
Police say three vehicles were heading into Las Cruces Friday night when all three lost control and crossed the median near the Sonoma Ranch exit. That’s when a semi-truck heading westbound hit them.
Two people died in the crash, while another person was flown to University Medical Center in El Paso.
New Mexico State Police and Las Cruces Police were diverting traffic throughout the night.
Authorities do not know if alcohol played a role in the crash, and have not released the names of the victims as of Saturday morning.
