An 87-year-old man who was injured in a traffic crash on May 3 has died.
Zeferino Marquez, of the 11700 block of Flor Del Sol, was the front seat passenger in a 1993 Ford Taurus being driven by Jorge Garcia-Lemus when it was involved in a traffic collision on I-10 West near mile-marker 22 at 7:40 a.m. May 3.

Garcia-Lemus complained of pain to his back and both men were transported to UMC from the scene of the collision.
Marquez and Garcia-Lemus were both wearing their seatbelts. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this collision. This is the city’s 26th traffic-related fatality.
