Registered Sex Offender Allegedly Tries To Steal Girl’s Underwear

Police arrested a registered sex offender Monday afternoon after he allegedly tried to steal a girl’s underwear from a clothes hanger used to dry off washed clothing.

Investigators charged Paul Miller, 37, of the 3200 block of Isla Banderas Way, with Robbery. The incident happened at about 6:45 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 10100 block of Hedgerow.

According to police, a resident of the complex noticed Miller pulling the underwear off the hanger and confronted him. Miller dropped some of the girl’s clothing on the ground and hit resident in the face with a large beer can when the resident stood down to pick up the garments, police officials said.

Police said Miller then ran away and was later caught by police officers a short distance away. Miller was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $25,000 bond. He is a registered sex offender and his registration with the police department is current, officials said.
