Residents Describe LC Mobile Home Community As “Third World”

Third World living conditions – in the city of Las Cruces! That’s how some residents are describing one mobile community.

Hidden on a dirt road off McClure, nearly 30 to 35 trailers rest on private property. Neighbors in the area say they’re concerned the homes do not meet city standards, so ABC-7’s New Mexico Mobile Newsroom checked it out.

ABC-7 was unable to speak with the owner of the property, but residents say they have basic utilities and pay rent.

On Friday, Mayor Ken Miyagishima toured the property with codes officers, who said the homes appear to be up to city standards.
