Neighbors Want Action After Another Traffic Accident In East El Paso

A car hit a pedestrian early Saturday morning in east El Paso, prompting residents to say enough is enough. They say they’re tired of wrecks occurring just feet away from their homes.

The wreck happened on Picasso and Zaragoza shortly after 2:30 a.m. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

As of Saturday morning, investigators had not released the person’s name.

The spot where the wreck happened is the exact same place where two people were killed in early July when the driver of a car attempted to make a U-turn directly into the path of a truck.

Neighbors say this has been a problem for years, and want something done. Gracie Herrera says she and her neighbors have been asking the City of El Paso for speed bumps in the area since 2007.
