Family Members Looking For 28-Year-Old Mother

A West El Paso family is desperately trying to find the mother of their infant granddaughter.

Erica Isernia, 28, has been missing for more than a week, and witnesses said she was last seen leaving the Whatever Lounge in Downtown El Paso on July 9.

When Sandy Raudry looks at a photo of granddaughter Alejandra she sees her son, Alex.

“She’s the only thing we have left of Alex,” she said.

Alex died of a drug overdose last year. Now, Sandy and her husband are afraid their granddaughter will never see her mother again, either.

“She’s already growing up without her father and so it’s really important for her to have a mother here,” Sandy said.

But Iserna – Alejandra’s mom – is missing. Her friends said she left the lounge and got into a white Ford Explorer with a man who said he was in his early 30s and called himself “Gus.”

“I asked her ‘where are you going?’ She said, ‘this is my cousin, this is my cousin…don’t worry about it,'” said Erica’s friend, who asked not to be identified and was with Erica at the lounge the night Erica disappeared. “This guy was like, ‘come on Erica, let’s go, come on.'”

The baby’s grandparents are afraid Erica’s rough past with drugs may have something to do with her disappearance.

“It’s a reality. I mean we have to look at what happened to our son Alex and realize that it is a reality,” Sandy said.

For now, Erica’s parents must continue harboring hope.

“Hopefully she’ll find her way or someone can help her find her way back home to her daughter,” Sandy said.
