Severe Thunderstorm Warning For El Paso County

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northern El Paso county until 4 p.m.

At 3:13 p.m., National Weather Service meteorologists detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

The storm was located 12 miles south of McGregor Range, moving northwest at 5 mph.

Locations impacted include, Northeast El Paso, Franklin Mountain State Park, and Hueco Tanks.

Severe thunderstorms may produce damaging winds of at least 58 mph, hail 1-inch in diameter or larger, along with potentially deadly lightning. Take shelter inside a sturdy building.
