Walt Disney World Opens Posh Pet Resort
Summer?s here and many families are hitting the road. And often that means Fluffy and Fido have to stay behind in a kennel. But for families heading to Walt Disney World, there?s now another option. On August 27th, Disney will open a brand new luxury pet resort.
?The facility, both indoor and outdoor is more than 50,000 square feet. Inside we have more than 17,000 square feet of air conditioned indoor space,? said Debra Bennetts of Best Friends Pet Care, which operates the resort.
The facility will accommodate up to 270 dogs and 30 cats for both daytime and overnight boarding and there will also be a special room for pocket pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits. Canines will spend their time in the Doggy Village, which offers a wide selection of choices.
?It?s very much like staying at a hotel,? Bennetts said. ?You can get a very simple standard room which includes a bedroom area and a small outdoor patio. There are larger rooms called vacation villas and we have four huge VIP suites, which are equipped with televisions, raised bedding and a large, private outdoor patio,? she said.
