El Paso Water Utilities Offers Sandbags

El Paso Water Utilities (EPWU) is reminding El Pasoans about the hours of operation for the sandbag distribution system.

As of last year, sandbags are no longer distributed at El Paso fire stations, but instead at the following locations until September 17:

Hours: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Westside – 120 Kappa (near Keystone Heritage Park).

Northeast -Nations Tobin Park, 8831 Railroad.

Eastside – Album Park, Wedgewood & Lockerbie.

Mission Valley – Blackie Chesher Park, 9144 Escobar.

The Stormwater Operations Center will remain open all year and is fully stocked with sandbags as well.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Central – Stormwater Operations Center, 410 S. Cotton.

You must be an EPWU customer to receive sandbags, and there is a 25 bag limit per person per visit. Sandbags are for flood-control purposes only.

Customers are urged to be proactive. If you know your home or property floods, get sandbags ahead of time instead of waiting until the rain hits.
