Man Arrested In Dona Ana County For Allegedly Poisoning Wife, Mother-In-Law’s Wine
Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Investigators on Wednesday night arrested a Hatch, New Mexico man for allegedly trying to poison his wife and mother-in-law.
Domingo “Tito” Gomez, 51, has been charged with five counts of attempt to commit a felony (first degree murder).
Sheriff’s investigators said Gomez tried to poison his then-estranged-wife and his mother-in-law by allegedly injecting carbofuran, a banned pesticide, into their wine five times between January 2008 and March of 2008.
Carbofuran is highly toxic if swallowed.
Magistrate Judge Oscar Frietze set bond at $45,000.
Gomez is currently being detained at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
