Ariz. Escapee With Ties To Las Cruces Caught In Wyoming

Authorities say they have captured one of the two convicted killers who escaped from an Arizona prison in Wyoming.

The U.S. Marshals office says Tracy Province was arrested with a handgun early Monday in northwest Wyoming, about 60 miles outside of Yellowstone National park.

The other inmate – John McCluskey – and a suspected accomplice were still on the lam.

Province, 42, escaped with two other inmates from a privately-run, medium security Arizona State Prison in Kingman, Ariz. on July 30. Province is from Illinois but has relatives who reside in Las Cruces.

One escapee, Daniel Renwick, was captured Aug. 1 in Colorado. Province is serving a life sentence for murder and robbery. McCluskey is serving a 15-year-sentence for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm.
