Steelers Sign Safety Out Of UTEP

The Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday signed Da’Mon Cromartie-Smith out of UTEP to their training camp after they placed safety Tuff Harris on the Waived/Injured List with a shoulder injury.

Cromartie-Smith, 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, originally signed with the Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent out in April, but was released prior to the start of training camp. He will wear uniform No. 42 for the Steelers.

Harris was on the Steelers? practice squad in 2009 after previously spending time on the active rosters of the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans from 2007-08. He has eight career tackles in seven games played during his NFL Career.
