Las Cruces Police Say Man Smoked Marijuana With Children

Las Cruces Police arrested a man who allegedly was smoking marijuana with two young relatives, ages 10 and 13.

Charles B. Jackson III, 33, is charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The charges are fourth-degree felonies.

Las Cruces Police said that, on at least two occasions since July, Jackson smoked marijuana with the 13-year-old boy and has done so at least once with the 10-year-old boy.

Jackson told detectives that he believed smoking marijuana was a phase that the two boys would someday overcome.

Jackson was arrested Sunday, Aug. 8, and was transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $15,000.
