Police Search For Man Wanted In Kidnapping

El Paso Police are looking for a man wanted for numerous criminal warrants, including Aggravated Kidnapping, Robbery, Assault Family Violence, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Interfering with an Emergency Call and Probation Violation.

Fernando Magalde, 34, was approached near the 7900 block of Meraz at 10:30 a.m. Thursday by police when he fled on foot, according to police officials.

Police established a perimeter and called for all available resources to assist in the search for Magalde. At about 12:30 p.m. police released the perimeter but continue to look for Magalde.

Magalde has previously been featured on El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Manhunt Monday search for alleged criminals. See other alleged criminals featured on Manhunt Monday at KVIA’s Crime Center.

According to sheriff’s officials, Magalde is a confirmed Barrio Azteca Gang member sought for a series of crimes he allegedly committed on July 16, 2010.

At about 11 p.m. July 16, Sheriff?s Deputies were called to a residence in San Elizario in reference a family violence incident that had allegedly just occurred at the San Elizario Mission grounds located at 1556 San Elizario Road where an annual festival was taking place. Deputies met with a female victim who advised deputies that a series of events had just taken place about an hour earlier involving her husband, Magalde, whom she has an active protective order against. The victim said that about an hour earlier, she was attending the festival at the San Elizario Mission when she was approached by Magalde who began to argue with her. The victim said that as she tried to walk away and that Magalde proceeded to repeatedly punch her in the face with a closed fist, according to sheriff’s officials.

The victim said that as she attempted to call 911 from her cell phone Magalde managed to take away her cell phone, preventing her from calling for help. He then took the victim?s truck keys and allegedly forced her into her 2001 Dodge Durango against her will and drove away to a residence in San Elizario.

Magalde allegedly continued assaulting the victim, even biting her on her right arm. Magalde then took the victim?s wallet from her purse and drove off in her truck. Charges for all offenses mentioned have since been filed.

Responding deputies searched the area for the stolen 2001 Dark Blue Dodge Durango bearing Texas License plate BP1- H517 ? but were unable to locate it.

According to sheriff’s officials, Magalde is a confirmed Barrio Azteca gang member who’s criminal history shows various arrests for Assault (Family violence), Probation Violation, Parole Violation, Violation of Protective Order, Possession of Marijuana, Burglary of Habitation and DWI. Magalde is believed to still be the Borderland area hiding with friends or relatives.
