2nd Arrest Made In XO Bar Shooting
The El Paso Police Department’s Gang Investigations Unit has made another arrest in the shooting that occurred at the XO Sports Bar located at 7026 Alameda at 2:04 a.m. Sept. 10.
Police said the investigation revealed that Yazmin Aide Garcia, 28, of the 8000 block of San Jose, helped Julio Mendoza, 27, of the 7500 block of Alameda, flee the area of the XO Sports Bar immediately following the shooting.
Garcia also transported Mendoza to a safe location to hide from authorities, according to police officials. Garcia has been booked into the El Paso County Jail on the charge of Criminal Attempt Capital Murder and her bond has been set at $25,000.
On Sept. 10, officers responded to a shooting at the XO Bar and found two men who had allegedly been shot by an unknown male subject after an argument.
At that time, officers learned that the incident was possibly gang related and requested assistance from the Department’s Gang Investigations Unit. On Sept. 14, the gang unit arrested Mendoza for his alleged involvement in the incident. Police believed that Mendoza was the person who fired the shots that struck both men. Mendoza was booked in to the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of Criminal Attempt Capital Murder. His bond totaled: $100,000.
