Vandals Caught on Camera Damaging Radio Station’s Cars
Vandals went after company cars at a building housing several local radio stations on the west side, but they didn’t know their bad behavior was caught on camera. Now employees are hoping the surveillance footage will help police nab the people responsible for the damage.
The Clear Channel radio building on North Mesa street was hit Tuesday night by a group of five. Security cameras show men kicking company cars and tagging them with graffiti. They also damaged a sign in front of the building. They took off minutes later in a red car.
“It was really disappointing because we’re just so active in the community,” said Patti Diaz, program director at Power 201. She discovered the damage when she drove into work Wednesday morning. “We go to all the homecoming parades and we’re always at charity events and public events and it’s just disappointing that someone would do that to a vehicle that is so visible.”
Four other stations operate out of that building. They’ve filed a report with the El Paso Police Department.
