Officials investigating a beer run in east El Paso discovered one of the women involved had more than $3,000 worth of outstanding warrants.

Officers with the El Paso Police Department’s Pebble Hills Regional Command arrested Janine Hayden, 25, and Stephanie Dickens, 26.

Just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the Circle K in the 111000 block of Montwood regarding a beer run.

Investigators said Hayden went inside the store, grabbed to 12-packs of Corona beer and left the store without paying.

According to authorities, Hayden then ran to the area where Dickens was waiting in a car and the two took off.

Officers reportedly saw the car and stopped it near the intersection of East Glenn and Sam Snead.

Police said the beers were recovered and while investigating, officers learned Hayden had 17 outstanding municipal warrants totaling $3,302.30.

Both Hayden and Dickens were charged with theft. Hayden was also jailed for the outstanding warrants.
