3 Injured In East El Paso Structure Collapse

Three workers were injured Tuesday morning when a structure they were working on collapsed in the 11300 block of James Watt in East El Paso.

Six people were working on the construction site when the collapse occurred. Four of them had to be rescued and three had to be transported to the hospital with what appear to be non-critical injuries. Twelve fire and emergency units were dispatched to the scene.

Miguel Flores, an attorney with Tanzy and Borrego, witnessed the collapse from his office across the street.

“I was looking out the window and noticed how windy it was,” Flores said. “I was staring out there and noticed that the building was slowly starting to collapse and then after the slow collapse, it just started getting faster and it just ended up in a bunch of rubble.”
