Mom Charged In Son’s Death Found Not Guilty

Monea Tyson, a former Fort Bliss soldier charged with killing her 22-month-old son, has been found not guilty by a jury Thursday afternoon.

Tyson’s son died in 2008. Prosecutors said her son, Jayceon Tyson, had severe brain injuries, broken bones and other wounds.

This week, a former Albuquerque Medical Examiner testified for the defense, saying the toddler’s death was because of a medical condition known as sepsis and not because of the alleged child abuse.
