National Adoption Day Celebrated In El Paso

El Paso celebrated National Adoption Day Saturday with the adoption of 20 young children here in the city.

The adoption ceremony was held at the El Paso County courthouse and it was an event filled with hugs and lots of love.

New father Humberto Diaz and his son, Bradley, first met as teacher and student.

“He was my student for the last two years. It’s something me and my wife had talked about, adopting,” said Diaz.

“It’s going to be different because I have someone to love and I have parents to love me,” said Bradley.

Bradley has a little brother who did not get adopted during the event. For information on how you can help, you can contact Texas Department of Family and Protective Service at 834-5747.

It’s these types of stories that adoption advocates said prove the need for more foster homes and adoptive families.
