StormTRACK FIRST ALERT: Bundle Up For Parade, Black Friday

ABC-7 StormTRACK Chief Meteorologist ‘Doppler’ Dave Speelman has issued a First Alert for the coldest air of the season so far set to arrive Thursday afternoon and last into the first part of the weekend.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid 20’s Friday and Saturday mornings.

While setting up for the First Light Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade, Cat Woo and Tally Grost told ABC-7 cold weather or not, they were ready to roll with their float, shaped like a giant roller skate.

Both women are members of the ‘Sun City Roller Girls’ Roller Derby league.

“We’re gonna have to wear tights,” Woo said. “But they can actually be very warm if you layer them correctly.”

Meantime, El Paso’s Extreme Weather Task Force is collecting blankets for those who need them.

El Pasoans wishing to donate can drop them off at any fire station or at the El Paso Sheriff’s Office.
