StormTRACK First Alert: High Winds Sunday & Monday

A StormTRACK First Alert has been issued for the entire viewing area Sunday afternoon due to high winds and blowing dust.

Sustained winds will be 15-25 mph early Sunday, increasing to 20-30 mph later in the afternoon. Wind gusts in the El Paso area could be near 50 mph.

Dust-prone areas could see reduced visibility this afternoon making for difficult travel conditions.

Highest winds will be in the mountains and higher elevations, especially along with the eastern sides of the mountains. Places like Guadalupe Pass could see wind gusts as high as 65 mph, which could impact travel and pose risk to high-profile vehicles.
