Alleged Drunk Driver Crashed Into Parked Cars

An alleged drunk driver smashed into multiple parked cars and burst into flames just feet from a west El Paso apartment complex at 2 a.m. Saturday.

Neighbors who heard the crash said they were shocked and startled when they saw five cars along the 500 block of South Mesa Hills Drive that had been hit by the alleged drunk driver in a BMW.

“It sounded like a train wreck. We just came out to see what it was and we saw the white car. It was starting to catch on flames,” said Jaime Miranda.

ABC-7’s own Gaby Loria was at the crash moments after it happened. The El Paso Fire Department responded to the crash and quickly put out the fire.

No one was injured and the driver of the BMW took off on foot after her car caught fire, police said.

Police said the driver, 45-year-old Pam Sereles, was arrested and charged with DWI.

Neighbors told our reporter they frequently see motorists speeding through the area, especially at night.
