Manhunt Monday 12/06/10: Carlos Alberto Duran
This week?s MANHUNT MONDAY Most Wanted Fugitive is an individual wanted for absconding from a local halfway house. The target is identified as CARLOS DURAN (19) of El Paso, TX.
JANUARY 2009: On January 29, 2009 at 7:10 PM, an EPPD Officer observed CARLOS DURAN spray painting (tagging) the side doors of the Albertsons located at 3100 N. Mesa El Paso, TX. The EPPD Officer quickly detained DURAN & proceeded to search him. DURAN then suddenly struck the Officer on the chest with his right elbow & attempted to flee. Despite getting struck, the Officer was able to get ahold of DURAN where a struggle ensued causing both to fall to the ground. DURAN kept striking the officer & tried to retrieve the officers Taser. DURAN was arrested & charged with multiple offenses.
OCTOBER 2010: Just as recent as October 2010, CARLOS DURAN was residing at a Multi Use Facility (halfway house) as per the terms of his probation from the 346th District Court. On 10-30-10, DURAN was allowed to leave the facility to get medical treatment at a local hospital for an ear ache. DURAN never returned to the facility.
Since DURAN absconded from the multi use facility, the 346th District Court has issued a warrant of arrest for the apprehension of DURAN for the ASSAULT ON A PUBLIC SERVANT charge to go along with a recent charge of UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCE FROM A COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. DURAN is also wanted for a December 2008 EVADING DETENTION incident where he & another accomplice ran from EPPD Officers.
NOVEMBER 2010: Just last week 11-29-10, EPPD TAC Officers just missed CARLOS DURAN as he once again eluded capture.
CARLOS DURAN is believed to remain in the Borderland eluding capture. He has several contacts in the El Paso, Texas area & could possibly be hiding with friends or relatives.
