Las Cruces Accident Victim Remains In Critical Condition

Las Cruces Police are continuing to investigate a Saturday morning traffic crash that sent a 20-year-old man to the hospital in critical condition.

Sometime around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, Kendall Wyatt Levacy was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup northbound on Telshor Boulevard when it appears he attempted to turn onto eastbound Missouri Avenue and, instead, struck a traffic signal pole, according to police.

The force of the crash caused extensive injuries to Levacy’s lower extremities and he was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso in critical condition. Levacy’s injuries are considered to be potentially life-threatening.

Excessive speed is considered to be a contributing factor in the crash. Traffic investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the crash was alcohol-related.

Anyone with additional information on this crash, or the whereabouts of Levacy on Friday evening or early Saturday morning is asked to call LCPD traffic investigators at (575) 526-0795.
