UPDATE: 2 Women Fatally Stabbed In East El Paso
Authorities said two people were fatally stabbed on the 11000 block of Pratt Street in East El Paso Friday afternoon.
A spokesman with Emergency Medical Services told ABC-7 that a 58-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, who were mother and daughter, were killed. A third woman who was rushed to an area hospital with stab wounds, is currently in critical condition.
Police confirmed that two were killed shortly after 4 p.m inside a home on El Paso’s east side.
“My reaction? My heart just stopped. I couldn’t believe that this could actually happen to you know somebody that I actually know,” said Andrew Sanchez, friend of one of the victims.
Neighbors said they were stunned to here the situation unfold.
“My daughters just heard a bunch of people yelling, crying you know?” said neighbor Brenda Flores.
El Paso Police Department Spokesman Mike Baranyay said the investigation is still ongoing.
“At this point it’s all under investigation and cause of death or injuries are not gonna be released,” said Baranyay. “At this point we’re not releasing anything in regards to suspects or motives or anything like that.”
Detectives said there is no cause for alarm.
Friends and neighbors gave ABC-7 the names of the women believed to have been the victims in this investigation, but we have chosen not to release the names until family members have been notified.
