UPDATE: Elderly Men Looking To Reunite With Their Families
El Paso police officials said Alberto Soto Pena has been reunited with his family.
He was one of two men El Paso police needed the public’s help identifying and finding their families.
Jesus Ramirez is still in foster care. He was found in central El Paso near Oregon Street and Franklin Avenue Sunday. Authorities said the man didn’t know his address, but said he lived somewhere near the star on the mountain.
Authorities described Ramirez as 72 years old, between 5 feet 2 and 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighing about 120 pounds. They said he was found wearing blue jeans and a white and blue plaid shirt.
The other man was found in east El Paso in the 1800 block of Polly Harris Drive just after noon Sunday. Police said a good Samaritan found the man wandering and took him home with the hope of trying to help him.
Authorities said the man told them his name was Alberto Soto Pena. Police said he looked like he was in good health and was carrying a few groceries when he was found.
Officials described Pena as in his mid 80s, with gray, balding hair and green or hazel eyes. They said he was found wearing a navy blue baseball cap, beige shirt, brown pants and black shoes.
Soto Pena was reunited with his family Sunday night.
