Rod Smith

I am humbled and excited to walk through this journey that God has placed before me as Lead Pastor of Cielo Vista Church. I have seen God do some miraculous things here at CVC. From dynamic growth, to relocating, to seeing thousands of hearts turn toward God through the many ministries of CVC.

I grew up in a musical family where we were always singing around the piano or rehearsing for a special church activity. In 1984, I graduated from Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College, where I studied for the ministry. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership. While serving at a church in Norwalk, CA, God called me to join the staff at CVC in July of 1989 as worship pastor. In July of 2008, I began my role as Lead Pastor in this great church. I know that God has exciting things in store as we look to Him to guide our future. My wife Cindy, my three kids Nicole, Justin, and Jacob are thrilled to call El Paso our home.
