El Paso Police: Alleged DWI Driver Refuses To Stop, Rolls Car Over

El Paso police officers arrested a 44-year-old man for a second DWI offense after a Friday night incident, according to police officials.

Officers from the El Paso Police Department’s Central Patrol have arrested a 44-year old man for DWI 2nd after a Friday night incident.

Police said the investigation revealed that David Morales, of the 8800 block of Mt. Delano, was driving a blue 2006 Acura SX at 10:37 p.m., Friday at a high rate of speed when he almost struck a marked patrol unit in the 100 block of Father Rahm.

The officer attempted to stop Morales when Morales drove the wrong way on a one way at Paisano and Kansas, continued north on Kansas, striking three vehicles and causing the Acura to flip over, police said. Morales allegedly began cussing at the officers and was transported to University Medical Center.

Further investigation by police revealed that Morales had a previous DWI conviction in January 2006. Morales was then booked into the El Paso County Jail for Driving While intoxicated 2nd, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest. His bonds totaled $11,000. There were no reported injuries to persons from this incident.
