Police: Officer-Involved Shooting Sends 2 To Area Hospitals.

Two people including a police officer are at area hospitals after an officer-involved shooting in central El Paso.

The incident began just before 9 p.m. Friday night, when an El Paso police officer responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 3800 block of Harrison Avenue.

EPPD said that as the officer was conducting his investigation, a vehicle drove up and struck him. At that moment, police said the officer drew his handgun and fired at the driver, who then fled the scene but crashed a few blocks away.

Both the officer and the driver were transported to area hospitals, where officials said the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The identities of all those involved have not been revealed.

Police are still investigating the incident, and ABC-7 will bring you more details on this story as they become available.
