El Paso Police: Man Charged With Intent To Allegedly Promote Child Porn

The El Paso Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit, comprised of Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents and El Paso Police Detectives have charged an East Side El Paso man with two counts of possession of child pornography with intent to promote child pornography in an ongoing criminal investigation, police officials said.

Herbert Lee Evans, 30, of the 1640 block of Zaragoza, was arrested on Monday on the charges. According to police, the investigation revealed that Evans allegedly shared two electronic child pornography files over the internet on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 9:49 a.m. and at 10:23 a.m.

The files depicted children ages 3 – 9 and 4 – 5 years of age engaged in sexual conduct, according to police. Evans was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond was set at $20,000.
