El Paso Police: Residents Stop Man Allegedly Breaking Into Cars
El Paso police have charged a 20-year old El Paso man with two burglary of vehicles, possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, and four outstanding graffiti warrants, after the man was caught by residents while he allegedly broke into vehicles.
Police said that Raul Trujillo, 20, of the 11400 block of David Carrasco, broke into a 2001 Ford Focus by breaking the rear window in the 3000 block of Nancy McDonald at 9:42 p.m., Tuesday. A witness notified police and provided a description of Trujillo, according to police.
At 10:07 p.m., as officers were responding to Nancy McDonald police dispatchers advised units of a burglary of vehicle in progress in the 3100 block of Lonesome Dove.
Officers arrived and found Trujillo being held by residents for police in the 11500 block of Pratt. Police said the investigation revealed that at 10:07 p.m., Trujillo was seen breaking into a 1992 Honda Prelude and removing items. Additionally, Pebble Hills Tactical unit found a baggie of marijuana rolled up in Trujillo’s right sock when he was taken into custody, according to police.
Trujillo was booked into the El Paso County Jail on two counts of burglary of vehicle, possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, and four outstanding graffiti warrants.
