Police: Woman Rolls SUV In Socorro; Injures Infant Son
A woman rolled her SUV after Socorro police said she was driving recklessly at 90 mph which injured her infant son.
Both the driver, 29-year-old Alba Nidia Luna, and her son were injured in the rollover that occurred on Interstate 10 near Socorro at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Socorro police said Luna was weaving in and out of traffic before she lost control of her vehicle, which rolled over several times before coming to rest near the highway.
She was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where she was reported in critical condition.
Her son, who was also taken to Del Sol, was strapped in his car seat according to police.
Officials said his injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.
At this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the investigation, police said.
