SEVERE WIND RIPS ROOF
“When I came outside. My first thought, my roof has fallen off,” said Bonifacio Perez.
Tuesday’s strong winds caused major damage for residents across the Borderland. Perez was no exception after a roof smashed his front gate.
Perez lives on the 8400 block of Polaris and was shocked when the roof of the The Full Gospel Korean Church, located a block away, was ripped off and crashed into his property.
” It was a close call because the little girl (granddaughter) was leaving for school. When she heard the rumble she went back in again,” said Perez.
The owners of the church were not available for comment but a spokesman told ABC-7 they are working to clean up the mess.
“Exactly what time, I’m not sure. We’re doing the best we can, but we’ll get it done as soon as possible.”
