Caught On Video: Man Rides Atop SUV On I-10 Dressed In Tights

Normal rush hour traffic was anything but normal on Thursday morning.

Police officers in scanner radio traffic described the man as wearing a ballerina outfit. He was taken into custody Thursday morning after he sat atop a moving SUV on Interstate 10, blowing kisses and waving to passing drivers.

El Paso police said they first started getting calls about the man at about 8:15 a.m. near Gateway West and Yarbrough.

Police said the SUV got onto I-10 west at Yarbrough, traveling several miles before exiting at Geronimo when the man jumped off the SUV and jumped atop several other vehicles before police – at least one with a taser in hand but not used – took him into custody in front of Villa Alegre apartments on Gateway West near Robert E. Lee after a brief chase. The man had stripped to his red underwear before being caught.

Police officials said the man, who has not been identified, was taken to the Mental Health Mental Retardation facility for evaluation.
