Early Morning Traffic Stop In Mission Valley Yields Beer Runner

A Mission Valley officer making a traffic stop is advised that the vehicle he is stopping was involved in a beer run just moments prior.

The investigation revealed that a Mission Valley officer stopped James Jose PEREZ driving a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville at Ramona and Wooldridge just after 2:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

The officer had identified PEREZ and explained the traffic stop for defective headlamp when the Theft (Beer run) was put out to all units in the area. Officers were told that a 20-pack of Budweiser cans was taken in the Theft.

The 20-pack of Budweiser cans, valued at $13.99 was recovered in the back seat of the car and PEREZ was placed under arrest, charged with the Theft.

PEREZ had three additional Municipal warrants. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $853.00.
