Humane Society Vet Gets Pets Ready For Adoption

The Humane Society of El Paso goes through great lengths, making pets healthier for you to adopt.

A veteran medical director at the animal shelter is working on getting that done by surgically sterilizing the animals so they can’t reproduce.

Thirteen year veteran Dennis Flossi is the medical director at the Humane Society, and he says he spends about 60 percent of the day devoted to spay-neuter surgery.

Flossi says it’s pretty obvious, you spay your dog or cat then they can’t have kittens or puppies, which will help reduce the number of homeless animals that could possibly face euthanasia.

Ever since the veteran medical director was a young boy, Flossi says he’s despised seeing a hungry stray dog or cat running around and that’s why he fight’s to reduce that.

Flossi and the Humane Society of El Paso are working on having a more pet adoptions than animals at the shelter.
