UTEP Football Kicks Off 2011 Season at Home on Saturday
EL PASO, TEXAS — UTEP will kick off its 94th season of football at home versus Stony Brook on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. MT in the Sun Bowl.
Ticket prices for the Stony Brook game are $10, $15 and $20. Fans can purchase individual game tickets by calling 747-5234 and season tickets by calling 747-6150.
UTEP?s annual preseason pep rally, Minerpalooza, is celebrating its 21st anniversary. This year?s event will be staged on Friday (Sept. 2) from 6 p.m.-midnight in the center of campus (University Avenue and Hawthorne Street).
A Miner ?Kick-Off Bash,? featuring music, inflatable games and giveaways including appearances by the UTEP band, cheerleaders, Golddiggers and Paydirt Pete, will take place from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday at the Geology lawn. The first 2,000 fans into the stadium will receive rally towels, and the first 3,000 will receive Koozies (drink holders). Both promotional items are courtesy of the AT&T Yellow Pages. The UTEP marketing department will also be giving away 10,000 Pete?s Pennies (coupons for local businesses) and 5,000 schedule cards.
