UTEP Women?s Basketball Finalizes 2011-12 Schedule
EL PASO, TEXAS ? The UTEP women?s basketball team has finalized its 2011-12 schedule with the release of the 2012 Conference slate by head coach Keitha Adams Tuesday afternoon.
?It is always exciting this time of year to get our C-USA schedule,? Adams said. ?Conference USA is very competitive from top to bottom. It is going to be a very exciting season.?
The Miners christen league play on the road with a match-up at SMU on Jan. 5. UTEP then returns home for a pair of contests, playing host to Memphis (Jan. 8) and Tulsa (Jan. 12).
A challenging stretch ensues with three of the next four tilts on the road. Adams? charges will play at Tulane (Jan. 15), East Carolina (Jan. 19) and Southern Miss (Jan. 25). The lone home match-up in the sequence comes against defending league champion Houston (Jan. 22).
2011 C-USA Tournament champion UCF returns to the Don Haskins Center to battle the Miners on Jan. 29. The game will start a sequence of having three of four at home. UTEP travels to Rice (Feb. 5) but will then have both Marshall (Feb. 9) and Tulane (Feb. 12) in the Sun City.
A busy week with some travel ensues, with the Orange and Blue taking on Tulsa (Feb. 16) and Houston (Feb. 19) in hostile territory. UTEP concludes its home portion of the C-USA slate with consecutive games vs. SMU (Feb. 23) and Rice (Feb. 26). The Miners wrap up conference action at the 2011 WBI Champion UAB (March 1).
