Panel Finds Military Nurse Not Guilty In Mercy Killing of Iraqi Teen
A panel Fort Bliss officers and non-commissioned officers found Staff Sgt. Andrew Sims not guilty of murder and involuntary manslaughter in the mercy killing of an Iraqi teen who was treated for severe burns in 2006.
Sims was facing a court martial at Fort Bliss in the 2006 death, which took place at the 10th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq. Sims is currently a nurse assigned to Beaumont Army Medical Center.
Sims was facing the possibility of life in prison.
