Authorities Arrest Suspects In Aggravated Robbery
Officers with the U.S. Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Monday arrested two men accused of shooting and robbing a man during an alleged drug deal, authorities said Tuesday.
Police responded to a shooting about 9 p.m. Sept. 8 on the 8600 bock of Centennial Drive in El Paso’s West Side. When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man who had been shot twice. He was taken to an area hospital.
Investigators with the Crimes Against Persons unit, who said that the shooting victim had gone to the house to “negotiate an illegal narcotics transaction,” secured warrants for Allen Battle, Christopher Garcia, 26, and Alberto Garcia, 21. Battle’s age was not available.
Battle was arrested on Sept. 10 after being stopped for a traffic violation.
On Monday, officers with the task force spotted Christopher Garcia and Alberto Garcia — who are not related — about 4 p.m. on the 3800 block of Fred Wilson Avenue. They were turned over to police investigators and booked into the El Paso County Jail.
Christopher Garcia, of the 9300 block of Hollings Street, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery His bond was set at $502,738. Alberto Garcia, of the 3900 block of La Luz Avenue, was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $1,000,358.
