Officials: Man To Be Evaluated After Incident At Fort Bliss

Fort Bliss law enforcement officials were notified about noon Thursday that a man had isolated himself in his home.

Fort Bliss officials said the area was immediately cordoned to ensure the safety of the residents and traffic was re-routed.

After two hours of dialogue between the man and Fort Bliss officials, the man voluntarily exited the home.

Fort Bliss law enforcement officials emphasize there was never any reason for residents to be concerned about safety in the area.

The man was taken to Beaumont Army Medical Center for observation and evaluation. Military law enforcement continues to investigate the incident.
