Woman Faces Several Charges

WOMAN ARRESTED ON VARIOUS CHARGES DURING MONTH OF OCTOBER
Location: Various in Mission Valley and Pebble Hills Regions Arrested: Venice Reyes, 31 years of age of San Elizario Texas
EL PASO, TEXAS – A woman is arrested after she commits four different crimes during the month of October. Detectives from the Mission Valley Regional Command arrested 31 year old Venice Reyes on Friday October 21, 2011 after the investigations led to four separate arrest warrants being issued for Reyes. These incidents were investigated by officers assigned to the Pebble Hills Regional Command and Mission Valley Regional Command. The first incident occurred on October 6, 2011.
10-06-11@ 7:30p.m. 9300 block of Corralitos: 86 year old Felix Saldivar is inside his home when he hears a knock at the door. He recognizes Reyes standing outside and opens the door. Reyes then asked to come inside. Once inside Reyes asked Saldivar for money, which he refused. Reyes then asked to use the restroom and Saldivar allowed her to go into the restroom. After Reyes left the residence Saldivar noticed his wallet was missing from his pants which had been hanging in the restroom prior to Reyes leaving the residence. Detectives were able to file for and obtain an arrest warrant in this case for Theft of Property (2 or more previous convictions).
10-08-11 @ 2:54p.m. 12460 Montwood (Chevron): 34 year old Tina Duarte is pumping gas in her vehicle when she is approached by Reyes. Duarte reported that Reyes then demanded money and threatened to shoot Duarte if she did not give her any money. Reyes continued to threaten Duarte but never displayed a weapon. Duarte did not hand over any money. Reyes then apologized and fled the scene in a white truck. A warrant for the charge of Robbery was obtained in this case by investigators.
10-08-11 @ 3:07p.m. 1890 Joe Battle (Chase Bank): 45 year old Lizabeth Najera was using an ATM machine belonging to the Chase Bank when she was approached by Reyes. A brief conversation ensued between Reyes and Najera. After the conversation concluded Reyes handed a note to Najera demanding money or she would shoot her. Najera, fearing for her life, told Reyes she only had one dollar. Reyes then shouted, “Lets Go!” towards a white truck. Reyes then fled the scene in the truck. A warrant for Robbery was obtained in this case.
10-18-2011 @ 4:49p.m. 9100 block of Maria: 84 year old Valentin Mendoza is inside his home when he hears a knock on his door. He notices that it is Venice Reyes and recognizers her because she is reported to be a friend of one of his family members. Mendoza opens the door and allows Reyes into the home. Once inside, Reyes is reported to have begun kissing Mendoza and made sexual advances towards him. Mendoza refused the advances and attempted to walk into the kitchen when he bent over to pick up something that was on the floor. Reyes then reached into the back pocket of Mendoza’s pants and took his wallet. Mendoza attempted to get his wallet back and during the struggle the wallet fell to the floor. Reyes then began to punch Mendoza in the face several times causing him to suffer a bloody nose. Reyes then left the apartment, taking the wallet with her.
On Friday, October 21, 2011, detectives assigned to the Mission Valley Regional Command located and arrested Reyes on warrants related to these incidents. Reyes was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of Theft of Property (Two or more previous convictions), Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Robbery. Her bonds totaled: $52,500.00 ###
