New Clues In Sex Torture Case
There is new evidence and an emotional statement from sex torture victim Cynthia Jaramillo. She speaks out during a news conference in Albuquerque on Friday to help the FBI find other potential victims of former El Pasoan, David Parker Ray.
Police also released photos of a girl taken from a fake ID found in Ray’s home.
It’s been more than two decades since Jaramillo was held captive. Ray died in prison in 2002, but Jaramillo said the experience still haunts her. She spent three horrific days enduring unspeakable torture at the hands of the self-proclaimed serial killer.
She doesn’t like to talk about it, but Jaramillo is willing to relive her painful past to possibly help police find other victims.
She said, “These families deserve to have these people know what happened … and these people need to be returned to their families whether they’re gone or not.”
In 1999 Jaramillo escaped Ray’s trailer in Truth or Consequences, N.M., wearing only a dog collar and a chain. Ray called the trailer his “toy box.”
Jaramillo continued, “One time he said that he would kill me like others had been.”
In September, Albuquerque FBI searched Elephant Butte lake for remains of the 40 victims Ray claimed to have murdered, but came up empty handed.
