Aggies Team Up With Toys for Tots

LAS CRUCES ? The New Mexico State athletic department and Radio of Las Cruces have teamed up with Toys for Tots to help bring holiday cheer to under-privileged children in the region.

On December 19th, the NM State men?s and women?s team host non-conference opponents in the Pan American Center. The men play at 5PM and the women play at 7:30PM as part of a special double-header. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for distribution to the Toys for Tots program.

?It?s a great tradition that really helps bring smiles to kids during this Holiday season and makes sure that no kid gets left out,? said Ernesto Garcia, Radio of Las Cruces Operations Manager.

To encourage greater participation in this important community event, adults and kids over 12 that bring a toy receive a $5 reserved seat and all kids 12 and under are free for this double-header event. Further, the men?s game tickets are good for both the men?s game and women?s game.

During halftime of the men?s game, the Aggies also welcome fans to participate in the traditional Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a new teddy bear and throw it on the floor at halftime. During halftime of the women?s game, a new tradition, the Doll Drop will be started. The Aggies encourage fans to bring a new doll and drop the doll on the floor at halftime. These teddy bears and dolls will also be distributed to under-privileged kids.

Santa Claus will be making a special appearance during the women?s game and will return for the men?s game on Dec. 21.
