Driver Was Drunk When He Ran Stop Sign, Crashed, Police Say

Police arrested a man they said was intoxicated when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a metal post and cable fencing shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police said 30-year-old Anthony Barraza, of the 5400 block of Santiago Roque, was driving a 2002 Honda Accord south on the 1000 block of Valley Crest Drive when he ran the stop sign at Escobar Drive and crashed into a post and fence, damaging the vehicle. The were no reported injuries.

Barraza was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content greater than of equal to 0.15. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail with bond was set at $1,000.
