UTEP’s Washburn Repeats As C-USA Freshman Of The Week

UTEP’s Julian Washburn was tabbed the Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the second straight time on Monday.

Washburn followed up a 12-point night at UNLV on Wednesday by scoring a season-high 19 points versus Southern on Saturday. He made 7-of-11 shots, 3-of-4 three pointers and 2-of-2 free throws versus the Jaguars. Washburn had solid all-around numbers for the week, averaging 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 steals while shooting 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from the floor.

The Duncanville, Texas native joins Tulane’s Ricky Tarrant as the only multiple winners of the award this season.
